Satellite communication is a method of communication that involves the use of multi-orbit satellites eg. GEO/MEO/LEO to provide broadband communication links from 10~150Mbps between various locations on Earth.
Broadband Satellite Communication works by transmitting signals from an earth station to a satellite in orbit. The satellite then amplifies and retransmits the signal back to earth, where it is received by another earth station or user terminal. In case of availability of inter-satellite link, connection could be built between through multiple satellites without involvement of other earth gateway station.
Broadband Satellite offers reliabile internet connection with global coverage, high bandwidth, and communication resilence. It is particularly crucial in remote areas where traditional fiber infrastructure is not available and mission-critical user scenario.
LEO satellite fly over horizon in several 10 minuts for each user terminal, so the traditional dish like antenna can't keep tracking the satellite in time. Phase-Array Antenna could electronically steer the beam toward the satellite in connection without the heavy, bulky steering mechanics, which drastically reduce the weight and make the LEO satellite communication feasible.
With its slim and light-weight design, Phase-Array Antenna enable many new fields of applications and environment.
